How much does Microsoft Dynamics GP cost?
The answer to that question usually includes the current license promotion offered by Microsoft. A new promotion was announced today for FY16.
“Give Me 5” – Get the Dynamics GP Starter Pack (3 users) plus 2 additional full users for $6,000.
Regular Dynamics GP accounting software list price for 5 users is $11,000. (Starter Pack $5,000 plus $3,000 per each additional user).
So this promotion represents a savings of $5,000 for 5 full Dynamics GP users.
This promotion expires September 27th, 2015. (If you are reading this after the expiration date check current Dynamics GP promotions here.)
As always, one year of the Business Ready Enhancement plan (maintenance fee) is required. This is 18% of the FULL system list price, not the discounted price.
As I explained in a previous post, Dynamics GP 2013 Price Discount Saves Money Except When it Doesn’t, this is only a good deal if you actually need the 5 users as you will pay more each year for the maintenance plan. So it is good to calculate the long term savings.
This offer applies to new customers, who have not previously purchased Dynamics GP, in the United States only.
Something else that I found interesting in the terms of this offer are that customers who take advantage of this offer will not be allowed to transition to another Microsoft Dynamics ERP product using a transition credit nor be allowed to transfer either the full license, or any of the Full CALs, or the Extended Pack, for two years from the date they purchase their first Microsoft Dynamics GP Perpetual (all releases) licenses. In other words, Microsoft doesn’t want you buying Dynamics GP at a discount and then using the credit to transfer to the more expensive Microsoft Dynamics AX. At least not for 2 years… Terms like that are always interesting to me because I bet someone has tried that loophole before.
