Some companies have dashboards in Acumatica that are trying to refresh a tremendous amount of information. In the past, they would all refresh in real-time. But perhaps you do not need real-time numbers. For example, a distribution company that only ships its orders once a week or a software company that responds to its support cases every 12 hours.

Now, in Acumatica 2020 R1 you can select how often that dashboard will refresh. This helps to speed up your system, and not tax system resources.

Watch the Overview Video.

Video Transcription:

“To improve performance and decrease the taxing of system resources, Acumatica has introduced the ability to determine how often you would like to refresh and cache your dashboards. Instead of a realtime refresh on each dashboard tile, Acumatica customers are now given the ability to determine how often they would like each one of those tiles to refresh.

In my instance of Acumatica, I have selected a dashboard and I will refresh the dashboard by selecting the Acumatica logo. Notice that all of my tiles pop in immediately, but my items purchased in the last 12 months continues to refresh and tax my system resources. This inquiry has a lot of data behind it, and I might not need that tile to refresh in realtime constantly. As a user, I can determine that I would actually like that tile to refresh every hour instead. When I select the refresh button on my dashboard a second time, you will notice that my items purchased in the last 12 months loads immediately, because now it is looking at that one-hour timer for how often it needs to refresh. Of course, users have the ability to see how often the tile was last refreshed and can give it a manual refresh as often as they would like if necessary. Other examples of where this functionality might come into play are maybe a distribution company that only ships its orders once a week. Or a software company that responds to its support cases every 12 hours.

Acumatica is committed to providing our customers with a high speed, high-performance system. This is one example of how Acumatica allows the user to put performance at their fingertips.”
