The ability to attach documents to record level notes in the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 application has been done as OLE objects. This functionality has been replaced with the Document Attachment Functionality. This functionality will allow users to attach documents to the notes that will be stored directly in the Microsoft SQL Server Database.
Since the files are now stored in the SQL Server Database, the data is stored and backed up along with the rest of the Microsoft Dynamics GP data and paths to the files is no longer an issue. Files that are attached to the notes using Document Attach will also be accessible from the Web Client.
