Innovative Medical Products is a Connecticut based manufacturer and distributor of medical devices for the orthopedic industry.  When they knew they had outgrown the MYOP accounting software used to run their business, they chose to implement Microsoft Dynamics GP from CAL Business Solutions.  This is their story.

“We knew we needed an ERP system so we reviewed Epicor, Peachtree, Job Boss, Macola, Activant, Visual, QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics GP.  GP stood out to us to mostly because of how it was presented from CAL Business Solutions.  George showed us how we use real time scenarios and how the data can be accessed and organized in our business.

Microsoft Dynamics give us strong financials and enough functionality to manage the manufacturing process without being overkill, and getting Sales Pad has really led to productivity increases on the distribution side.  When our customer service people enter an order, all the information that they need needs to be on the screen.  Stuff like history, order details and all that information is there with Sales Pad. 

Prior to Microsoft Dynamics GP and Sales Pad we could only process about 20 orders a day per person, now we’re up to 40 or 50 orders a day.  It’s about 150 percent increase. 

With Sales Pad we use the data collection system and use handheld bar code scanners.  It’s really helped with our error control because we have a lot of products with similar names.  If a customer ordered a 1092P and we shipped a 1092 the difference was about $7,000.00.  With the bar code system there’s very little chance of error.  With Microsoft Dynamics we’ve increased our order accuracy to about 98 ½ percent.

We needed a way for our outside sales reps to be able to see their commission date on a real time basis.  I built an online SSRS report that was up and running in about a week.  We saved about three days and about 500 sheets of paper each month.
