The first Convergence event was in 1997 and the last one was in 2015; although we did not know at the time that it would be the last one!
Microsoft announced that they have ended the Convergence event and replaced it with “Envision”. Envision is promoted as the new flagship Microsoft event for business leaders.
However Envision will not have any Dynamics GP content. In fact we heard there will only be a few breakout/training type sessions; the majority will be keynotes by industry experts. Although it is sure to be educational, we are not recommending this event to our CAL clients as we have done in the past with Convergence.
What other events can you attend as a Dynamics GP user?
Of course we feel the best event for Dynamics GP users to attend this year is CAL Connect2016 right here in Bristol, Connecticut on May 19th.
Another option, on a larger scale, is the GPUG Summit event in October 2016 in Tampa Florida.
We have also been told that the Dynamics GP team at Microsoft is working on organizing their own customer/user event to replace Convergence and we will be sure to share details when they are released.
