If you are working with CAL Business Solutions, your support from us never ends. Many of clients are running old versions of Microsoft Dynamics GP and that is ok. While you are missing lots of great new features (like the ones we reviewed at CAL Connect2014), we understand that upgrades need to be done at the right time for your business.  But support from Microsoft does end.

It really does make sense for you to upgrade once Microsoft no longer offers mainstream support for your version. While we can still offer support, it can make it more difficult for us (which means more time consuming and expensive for you) if we can not get assistance from Microsoft.

This will become even more important to keep in mind as Microsoft moves to a 6 month release cycle for Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Here are a few support end dates from Microsoft to keep in mind.

End of Mainstream SupportEnd of Extended Support
Dynamics GP 2013April 10, 2018April 11, 2023
Dynamics GP 2010Oct. 13, 2015Oct. 13, 2020
Dynamics GP 10.0ExpiredOct. 10, 201
Dynamics GP 9.0ExpiredExpired

For service packs, support ends 24 months after the next service pack releases or at the end of the product’s support lifecycle, whichever comes first.

The biggest thing to take note of is that when mainstream support is over tax and year-end updates will no longer be available.
