Many CAL clients are still using older versions of Dynamics GP, prior to Dynamics GP 2013. This means you are on the old Business Ready Licensing (BRL) or Module Based Licensing (MBL) models. In order to “encourage” you to upgrade to Dynamics GP 2013 with the new Perpetual Licensing model, Microsoft has announced some price changes that go into effect July 1, 2014.

Current User PriceNew User Price (as of 7/1/2014)
BRL Business Essentials$2250$2600
BRL Advanced Management$2985-$3980 tieredNo change
MBL Professional$1850-$2100 tiered$2600 (elimination of all price tiers)
MBL Standard$750No change
MBL User Based Pricingn/a$2600

What does this mean for you?

If you think that you will need additional users in the next 6 to 12 months, there is no better time to buy those users before the prices go up on July 1, 2014.

Plus, now is a great time to look at Dynamics GP 2013 with Perpetual Licensing – a simplified licensing model with one edition, one functionality pack, and two user types.  Module list

Hint: If you are not sure what licensing model you have look at your customer information in CustomerSource. If your system is called Professional or Standard then you are on the MBL pricing model. If it says Business Essentials or Advanced Management then you are on the BRL model. If you are on Dynamics GP 2013 (or newer) you are on Perpetual Licensing.
