If you purchased Microsoft Dynamics GP before 2006 you are likely using either the Standard or Professional versions. We just confirmed that all Module Based Licensing customers (using Standard or Professional Versions) will receive the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Extended Pack at no cost. This is $10k worth of software for free. But your protected list price (used to calculate your annual maintenance fee) will not increase. It is kind of like buying a Honda Civic and then being told you were eligible to trade it in for a new Mercedes but your repair bills will stay the same.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 will use the Perpetual Licensing Model. Every user will have the Starter Pack. Customers who need additional advanced functionality can get the Extended Pack.Review what functionality is included in the Dynamics GP Starter Pack and Extended Pack.

Because the starter pack includes so many additional modules that were formerly only available in more advanced versions every Dynamics GP customer is actually getting MORE functionality than they used to have. Read the post: Which Dynamics GP 2013 Modules Will Every Existing Dynamics GP User Receive Free?. But Standard and Professional Users get EVERYTHING for free when you upgrade to Dynamics GP 2013. (Of course you must be current on your Enhancement plan.)

Think about this – if you are using a relatively inexpensive Microsoft Dynamics GP Standard system, that you purchased prior to 2006, perhaps with just a couple core modules, you will now receive the deluxe, complete, most expensive version of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.  And the BEST part is that as long as you are current on enhancement plan you will keep the same Protected List Price (PLP). This means that you annual maintenance fees will not increase just because you now have a more expensive system.

That is why I said it is like buying a Honda Civic and then trading it in for a brand new Mercedes. And the Protected List Price means that Mercedes won’t cost you extra in the long run. Nice!

Of course, you should invest in some consulting and training by your favorite Microsoft Dynamics GP partner to learn how to use all this new functionality in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.
