All of us are looking forward to spring and the changes it brings! This spring is full of opportunities with the upcoming May 1st release of GP2010 (version 11). It has been 3 years since the last release and many are wondering “What is New in GP2010?” We invite you to get a preview of the new functionality along with learning about new licensing that will go into effect on May 1st by attending a special free webcast presented by Microsoft on March 23 at 1:30 PM EST – “Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Is Here – Get Ready Now”.
The changes coming with GP 2010 will affect each of our clients differently. We will be sending a special letter in early April that will highlight the changes and provide recommendations to help you save money and increase your functionality at the same time. Note: Some of you can save money by taking action prior to May 1st so please be on the lookout for my letter and take the time to review this important information. And, as always, we welcome your thoughts and questions so please contact us to discuss your specific needs. We are all looking forward to 2010 and everyone here at CAL wants to help you grow and prosper this season and well into the future! Happy spring!

Dynamics GP Tip: Assigning Function Keys to Shortcuts
The tip for this newsletter is something that I highlight when I do training. It will work with older versions of GP as well as the latest versions. Open this link to learn how you can assign one of your keyboard’s Function Keys (those “F” keys along the top of the keyboard) to a shortcut. Let me know what you think of the shortcut or if you have a shortcut you would like to share in our next newsletter.
Do you spend 8 hours or more computing sales commissions each month? Then you need CommissionCalc from Flaum Techn%gies Inc. CommissionCalc makes it practical to automate plans that seem impossibly complex. Does your plan have unique rules based on many factors, with lots of exceptions? Do you have quotas and tiers? Split commissions? Data errors to override? Royalties or rebates? Multiple commission recipients on a single invoice? CommissionCalc can do all of this, and much more. It will create commission reports exactly as you want them, no matter what your rules are. Download a fact-filled white paper, ” The Best Commission Calculator for You”, for a comparison of the four types of commission software; or read why one of Flaum Technologies’ clients said, “we couldn’t afford not to get CommissionCalc.”
An interesting article was found this month from a study done by Forrester Research. They are an independent research company that provides pragmatic and forward-thinking advice to global leaders in business and technology. Read more about why they predict “2010 Software Spending Devoted To Existing Systems More Than Emerging Technologies”.
