Amber's Tips & Tricks

Amber J Bell, CAL Hello Everyone,
Greetings from everyone at CAL! I hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer. This month I included a more advanced tip that I am sure you will love. These days, it seems like everyone is bouncing around online in their day-to-day transaction processing.

Did you know that GP allows you to store all kinds of Internet Information and links to documents and external programs on the Internet Information window? This is accessed off both Customer and Vendor Maintenance cards. You can also set your company up to have custom links to these sites and records.
Click here for instructions on: Setting Up Custom Links

If you have questions, please let me know. I am here to help you! In this issue, read about old versions, new versions, customer parties, free users and of course the big favorite - Excel tips!

Thank you, Amber J. Bell

Chuck's Tech Talk: Upgrade Again?

Chuck Caicature Many of you don't see me unless it's upgrade time. So why haven't I seen so many of you for so long? Oh, I know there are the usual reasons - I hear them all the time. But as Paul Harvey always says, here's "the rest of the story"---------

Read the full article for Chuck's reasons why you should care if your product is not supported and why upgrades are so important.

George's Corner: GP Version 10.0

George Mackiewicz, CAL Business Solutions Our customers who attended Convergence 2007 are already excited about the buzz created for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0. It will include more than 100 new features plus a new user interface that incorporates the look and feel of the new Microsoft Office 2007system and Windows Vista.

With this release, Microsoft is also shifting more of the reporting functionality to Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, which gives Dynamics GP customers more flexibility in how reports are deployed. Other improvements include significant enhancements to business intelligence (BI) functionality and advanced search capabilities.

Version 10.0 was just shipped to us so our team is excited to dig in. I hope that you will take the time to learn more about version 10 too. Here are a few ways:

  1. Attend the Connecticut GP Users Convergence on August 15th. We will focus on what's new, the features we think you will use the most, and help you prepare for an upgrade.
  2. Attend a Microsoft webcast on July 18th - Dynamics GP 10.0 and Office 2007 integration - The Right User Experience
